How to export Macquarie transactions to CSV

Updated 2026-10-15

Short answer

In Macquarie (personal), open the account, choose the date range and use the download/export option to save a CSV file. The file contains: Transaction Date, Description, Account, Category, Subcategory, Notes, Debit, Credit, Balance, Original Description — with a header row. Separate Debit and Credit columns. Import it into a budgeting spreadsheet such as Sorted Budget and the columns are detected and categorised for you.

Steps

  1. Log in to Macquarie online banking in a web browser (the app doesn't download).
  2. Open the menu and select Accounts, then the account.
  3. Filter, or scroll down until every transaction you want has loaded on screen.
  4. Click the Download icon at the top right and choose CSV.
